Cost per cup calculator: mushroom coffee vs your current coffee
Most mushroom coffee brands print a per cup price on the pack. Few show how they got there, and almost none let you compare it against what you actually drink now. This page does both. Every figure below is a straight calculation from pack price, pack size and serve size, and you can change any number to match your own cup.
How we calculate it
Cost per serve = pack price divided by serves per pack. Serves per pack = net weight divided by serve size. We use the single pack price at full price with no discount code, and we add delivery only where a brand charges it on a single pack. That is the whole method. Nothing here says anything about how one product performs against another; it is a price comparison and only a price comparison.

| Mushroom Coffee, 2 packs | $89.98 | 60 | Free | $1.50 |
| Mushroom Coffee, 3 packs | $119.98 | 90 | Free | $1.33 |
| Mushroom Coffee, subscribe and save 18% | $40.99 | 30 | Free | $1.37 |

What other Australian mushroom coffees typically cost per serve
At the time of writing (September 2026), the common format sold in Australia is a 120g pouch with 20 serves priced between $49.90 and $52.90, with free delivery only once an order passes a minimum spend. That works out to $2.50 to $2.65 per serve before delivery, and more on a single pouch that does not reach the free shipping threshold. We do not name brands here; the prices are easy to check on their own product pages, and they change. What does not change is the arithmetic: a 30 serve pouch at $49.99 costs less per serve than a 20 serve pouch at $49.90, because you are getting ten more cups for the same money.
Your current coffee, for comparison
| What you drink now | Typical cost | Per cup |
|---|---|---|
| Cafe flat white | $5.00 to $6.00 | $5.00 to $6.00 |
| Coffee pods at home | $0.80 to $1.20 per pod | $0.80 to $1.20 |
| Ground coffee for a plunger or stovetop | $30 to $50 per 500g | $0.50 to $1.00 |
So a serve of Mello sits about 50 cents to a dollar above a good home brew and about $3.50 to $4.30 below a cafe coffee. Whether the six mushrooms are worth that gap is your call, and our guide to whether mushroom coffee is worth it goes through both sides honestly.

The honest caveats
Serve size matters more than pack weight. A 6g scoop and a 5g scoop from the same pouch give different serve counts, so compare serves, not grams. Extract amounts per serve are not part of this calculation, and a cheaper serve is not a better serve if it carries less of what you are buying it for. Prices on this page were checked in September 2026 and will drift; the calculator above will always be right for whatever you type into it.
If the maths works for you, the Mushroom Coffee and Mushroom Matcha both ship free anywhere in Australia and carry a 30 day money back guarantee, so the first pouch is a low risk way to find out.
